Solaris Pet Care
I currently offer drop-in visits at client homes.
I have a long personal history of caring for cats and dogs of all breeds and sizes, and also have experience working in the pet food industry in both retail and corporate office environments. I unofficially pet sat for friends and family for years, and officially joined Rover in Seattle December of 2021. I started Solaris Pet Care when I moved to Whidbey Island in March of 2022. I am licensed, bonded, and insured.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve been transitioning toward specialized care for farms. I’ve cared for sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, guanacos, rabbits, chickens, and more. In April of 2026 I attended the Washington State University Extension program’s Shearing School, to add shearing services to my animal care offerings. I now offer shearing services for sheep and alpacas, and hope to add llamas and goats soon.

Services
Every pet deserves quality care while their family is away, and it's my goal to provide that care regardless of their family's financial situation. If the cost of the service you need is outside of your budget, please let me know. I'll do my best to work with you.
Please use the Contact form to request to book.
You will receive an invoice within one week of scheduling your booking. Fees must be paid in advance, but if you need to cancel or reschedule you can do so up to 48 hours before a scheduled drop in for a 100% refund.
Cancellations made within 48 hours before a scheduled drop in will receive a 50% refund or booking credit, at my discretion.

Shearing
Serving South Whidbey, with additional travel fees possible elsewhere.
Animals must be dry and accessible.
Sheep should be kept off food for 24 hours before your appointment, both for their comfort and for ease of shearing. Limiting food intake prior to shearing is also not a bad idea for alpacas if you want to limit contamination of fleeces.
I will have extension cords with me, but easy access to power is ideal.
Set up fee: $100
Per ewe: $15
Per ram: $30
Per alpaca: $35
Hoof trimming: $5 each
Since I’m still a new shearer, if you are very particular about how your fleeces come off I may not be the best choice for you. I am happy to recommend other shearers in the area—just ask!
Meet & Greet
Free
A 30 minute meeting in your home to determine if we're a good fit.
Schedule a Meet & Greet before your first booking so you, your pet(s), and I can start getting to know each other. This is also a great opportunity for me to get comfortable with where things are in your home and to learn your pet's routines.
Free for first time clients only—if you want to schedule another Meet & Greet for any reason, there will be a $25 fee.
